My immediate use is collaboration on a DEV system shared between Amazon accounts. If your DEV system is pivot-booted, you can distribute a consistent DEV system very nicely indeed, and now you can do it between accounts.

Inconsistent, isn't it how AWS uses canonical IDs for S3 ACLs and yet it is fine with dashless AWS accounts numbers for EBS shares?
